Protest marred by phone thieves in Kurudu, Abuja.

A peaceful protest in Kurudu, Abuja was hijacked by thugs who took advantage of the situation to commit theft and harassment. The movement which took place in solidarity with the scheduled youth protest, turned violent as thugs disrupted the gathering, engaging in illicit activities

The Members of the community who remained in their residence due to fear of the hijack claimed that they had already fathomed that the peaceful protest would be marred, considering that the thugs already took advantage of crowded settings in the past to execute their illicit act.

Before the hijack, the community protest was a one-voice-for-all movement. distinct individuals of the society including traders, bike men, youth, women and children engaged in the movement with many maintaining daily activities.

According to the protestants the nation's economic state is enough zeal to keep them glued to the protest, adding that the hijack will not deter them from the movement. This claim was evident in the sparse presence of residents in their homes and bustling streets until the moment of this report.
